Another batch of guided anti-aircraft missiles for the German-made IRIS‑T SLM/SLS air defense systems has been delivered from Germany to the Polish city of Rzeszów for subsequent transfer to Ukraine, according to specialized defense publications.
The delivery was carried out as part of Berlin’s previously announced decision to continue regular shipments of IRIS‑T systems and their ammunition from industrial production.
On the eve, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Ukraine plans to order an additional “several thousand” IRIS‑T guided missiles, and that financing for this purchase will be provided through the defense component of a €90 billion European loan.
In parallel, Berlin announced the emergency transfer to Kiev of PAC‑2 interceptor missiles for Patriot systems from its own Bundeswehr stockpiles, as well as an increase in supplies of AIM‑9 air-to-air missiles.
According to sources, additional batches of missiles for IRIS‑T are expected to arrive as early as September 2026, which will make it possible to strengthen the protection of Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure ahead of the winter period.
Transit through Rzeszów remains the standard route for Western arms supplies: cargo arrives at warehouses in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, after which it is handed over to Ukrainian logistics units for delivery to the front and to rear areas of air defense.
